As the onslaught of menopause nears, so does osteoporosis which leads to bone loss without proper supplements. Bi-phosphate therapies that have been used to treat osteoporosis does help but more visits to the dentists may be necessary to determine if more aggressive supplements are needed to augment for the fluctuating hormone levels in the body.

Menopause can cause bone thinning and even degradation without proper management and teeth being anchored to bone can suffer from loss of the jaw. A better understanding of the processes underway is needed so more visits increases the chances of having less tooth problems in later life.
